Bridgestone has committed to the target of increasing the use of recycled and renewable materials to 40 percent of its resources by 2030 and achieving 100 percent material sustainability by 2050. At CES, we will showcase several key elements of its aim for a sustainable and circular tire economy.
Bridgestone has invested more than $100 million in the development and commercialization of guayule - a domestic, renewable alternative to hevea-derived natural rubber. The company currently operates a 281-acre research farm, a bio-processing pilot plant and several grower partnerships with local farmers and Native American tribes in northern Arizona. The company introduced its first race tire with guayule in its sidewall during the 2022 NTT INDYCAR Race Series.
Toward carbon neutrality and circular economy, our tires will be 100% sustainable with built-in technology to monitor use.

The Bridgestone Smart Corner at CES is a demonstration of our ability to enhance performance, comfort and efficiency of electric and autonomous vehicles. The solution combines premium Bridgestone tires and Firestone Airide air springs that are engineered specifically for electric and autonomous vehicle applications.
Both the ENLITEN EV Concept Tire and the Firestone Airide Concept EV Air Spring feature integrated sensors that collect data that, when combined with Bridgestone’s proprietary data analytics technology, can inform native vehicle systems with real-time estimations improving performance, while also enabling Bridgestone mobility solutions to anticipate vehicle needs and connect customers directly to services.
The Bridgestone ENLITEN EV Concept Tire is constructed of new materials that are both sustainable and energy-efficient, reducing rolling resistance to increase battery range while meeting the demands for higher loads and wear resistance associated with EVs. The ENLITEN EV Concept Tire is paired with Firestone Airide Concept EV Air Springs, designed as part of the integrated corner system to optimize efficiency and ride quality.

Firestone Airide to debut rebrand at CES 2023. Airide air springs can be engineered specifically for electric and autonomous vehicle applications. The Smart Corner system uses embedded, cloud-connected sensors in both the tires and air springs, enabling Bridgestone to deliver real-time and predictive insights that elevate safety, efficiency and productivity.
This digitally connected air spring will adapt to real-time dynamic loads and enable active suspension systems to further isolate noise, vibration and harshness, while maximizing safety and efficiency without compromise to ride comfort. The air spring also enables proactive vehicle ride-height adjustment to maximize aerodynamic efficiency, improve user accessibility and protection of underfloor components in urban and off-road environments.
Bridgestone is developing the technology that will leverage both the real and digital to enhance the premium experience in future electric vehicles and enable new levels of safety, productivity and efficiency. When premium tires and air springs are designed as a system with electric vehicle platforms, they will work together to optimize performance and efficiency without compromising ride quality. Bridgestone will collect critical data from the corner system and through proprietary data analytics deliver actionable insights to vehicles that will help enable improved safety systems, improved ride and handling, extended product life and the fully autonomous future of mobility.
