Bridgestone’s Amanda Mathis named to 2016 BizWomen's Women to Watch list

BRIDGESTONE’S AMANDA MATHIS NAMED TO 2016 BIZWOMEN'S WOMEN TO WATCH LIST

Amanda Mathis, Interim CFO and former Vice President of Finance, was recently named to the inaugural 2016 BizWomen's Women to Watch list.

Amanda Mathis, Interim CFO and former Vice President of Finance, was recently named to the inaugural 2016 BizWomen's Women to Watch list. Over the last year, more than 1,000 women across the country were profiled in local Business Journals; the top 100 are honored in this list. Mathis is one of the two Nashville women selected, both of whom also received Nashville Business Journal's Women of Influence Award earlier this year.

The Emory University alumnae oversees a 140-member financial team and is responsible for budgeting, forecasting, compliance and enhancing Bridgestone's profitability. She is also heavily involved in helping to guide Bridgestone Americas Transformation journey, particularly in the area of Breakthrough Growth, where she serves as a senior leader working on the initiative Shape the Portfolio, including M&A.

Mathis is heavily involved in the Nashville community. She's a member of the Nashville Air Service Coalition and the Tennessee Department of Education Board Advisory Council. Additionally, Mathis is a recent breast cancer survivor and is approaching her one-year anniversary as part of the Tennessee Breast Cancer Coalition Board of Directors.

She credits her work ethic to growing up on the family farm and learning to take pride in everything she does. Both were clearly demonstrated in her recent cancer defeat, when she maintained a full work schedule throughout a year of treatment and surgeries. Mathis says the experience has given her "a much better perspective on what is truly important both from a work and personal standpoint."

Bridgestone is proud to have Amanda as a teammate and leader. To view the full BizWomen Women to Watch list, click here or to read the full Nashville Business Journal article about Amanda, click here.
