Bridgestone Hosts Hiring Event at Wilson Community College’s Frank L. Eagles Community Business Center

Applicants learned more about joining a family of businesses with local roots and a global footprint

Bridgestone Americas, Inc. (Bridgestone) today announced the company conducted a hiring event for entry-level production employees at Wilson Community College’s Frank L. Eagles Community Business Center on Thursday, May 23 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Eastern Time. Attendees had the opportunity to join the Bridgestone Wilson Plant team of skilled individuals whose work has both local and global impact on the Bridgestone business and the communities in which it operates. The event attracted more than 704 people, and attendees were able to apply for open positions during the event.      

Opened in 1974, the Bridgestone Wilson Plant manufactures passenger and light truck (LT) radial tires as well as original equipment (OE) tires as a part of Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations (BATO). The plant employs approximately 1,800 individuals and is one of more than 50 production facilities globally. Selected Wilson Plant applicants will be a part of the Bridgestone Americas family of businesses – a team of more than 50,000 technicians, engineers, scientists and professionals spanning from Canada and Argentina to Europe, Asia and Africa who are committed to delivering products to customers globally, while leaving a positive impact in their local communities.

Individuals interested in joining the Bridgestone Wilson Plant production team must be able to perform physical requirements including, but not limited to, standing, pulling, pushing, lifting and reaching as well as the handling of materials or tires on a repetitive basis weighing up to and exceeding 100 pounds (mechanical assistance available for heavier weights).  Additionally, successful applicants must be able to work a continuous rotating shift schedule in a non-climate-controlled environment and some roles may require driving mobile equipment.
