  • Penske will remain a preferred customer of Bridgestone commercial tires and Bandag retread tires in the U.S. and Canada.
  • The two companies will continue to pursue ongoing collaboration on technologies and products that offer more efficient and sustainable outcomes for fleet mobility and fleet management.
  • Through the use of Bandag retread tires, Bridgestone and Penske contribute to a significant reduction in CO2 emissions, air pollution and natural resource consumption.

Bridgestone Americas (Bridgestone) and Penske Truck Leasing (Penske) announced today the contract renewal of their strategic partnership to test, develop and deploy Bridgestone advanced technology and mobility solutions for the commercial segment in the U.S. and Canada with a focus on more cost-effective and sustainable results for fleets. As part of the agreement, Penske will also remain a preferred customer of Bridgestone commercial tires and Bandag retread tires.

“Penske is an invaluable partner and collaborator in the drive to produce better business outcomes and a cleaner, more sustainable, low-emissions future for fleets,” said Chris Ripani, president, Truck, Bus and Retread Tires, Bridgestone Americas. “We are thrilled for the opportunity to continue serving the needs of the Penske organization and to extend this important strategic partnership into the future.”

With this contract renewal, the two companies will pursue ongoing collaboration on technologies and products that offer more efficient and sustainable outcomes for fleet mobility and fleet management. Bandag retread tires, which are utilized by Penske as a core component of the partnership, offer significant environmental benefits including reduced CO2 emissions, natural resource extraction, water consumption, air pollution and land use, when compared to ultra-low cost, single-use commercial tires. In 2020, as a result of the relationship and through the use of Bandag retread tires, Penske was able to decrease tire waste by 11.5 million pounds.

“Our collaboration with Bridgestone is an important one,” said Paul Rosa, senior vice president of procurement and fleet planning, Penske Truck Leasing. “Together, we are able to provide our fleet customers with continued reliability, performance, over-the-road support, and enhanced sustainability.”

As a preferred and strategic corporate partner, Penske will continue to receive access to information and updates on Bridgestone products and solutions, along with comprehensive support and unique opportunities to evaluate and deploy advanced Bridgestone commercial tires and technologies.

Penske is an invaluable partner and collaborator in the drive to produce better business outcomes and a cleaner, more sustainable, low-emissions future for fleets. We are thrilled for the opportunity to continue serving the needs of the Penske organization and to extend this important strategic partnership into the future.
