Bridgestone Celebrates 30 Years of Operations at Truck and Bus Radial Tire Plant in Warren County, Tennessee

Bridgestone Americas, Inc. (Bridgestone), a subsidiary of Bridgestone Corporation, the world’s largest tire and rubber company, announced its truck and bus radial (TBR) tire manufacturing plant in Warren County, Tennessee recently celebrated 30 years of operations. The Warren County Tire Plant began manufacturing TBR tires in 1990 and continues to play a vital role in the local community today by employing more than 1,000 people.

“As we celebrate 30 years of manufacturing, we are thankful for our dedicated team, who is directly responsible for delivering the best-in-class commercial truck and bus tires our customers know and expect from Bridgestone,” said Tamara Martensen, plant manager, Warren County Tire Plant, Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations, LLC. “The Warren County Team sets the bar for total output and productivity across Bridgestone’s TBR facilities globally. The impact our Warren County employees make through the products they manufacture is at the core of our business, and we couldn’t do it without this team’s drive to continuously improve our operation. We also thank the Warren County community for its ongoing support.”

The Warren County Tire Plant is located in Morrison, Tennessee. In 2018, Bridgestone announced a $40 million investment in the plant to meet market demand and address emerging customer needs. During its 30 years in operation, the Warren County Tire Plant has received several certifications for safety leadership, quality management and environmental responsibility, including the Tennessee Green Partnership and the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver Certification in 2008, becoming the first tire plant in the world to achieve this designation. The Warren County Tire Plant also has been recognized as an OSHA Voluntary Protection Program STAR site, which recognizes employers who have implemented safety and health management systems to reduce employee injury rates and is patterned after the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration Voluntary Protection Program.

Year over year, the Warren County Tire Plant team demonstrates the Bridgestone global corporate social responsibility commitment Our Way to Serve through partnerships and community volunteer projects with the Foundation for Educational Progress in Warren County, Meals on Wheels, Habitat for Humanity and Second Harvest Food Bank, just to name a few.
