Bandag Mexico is Recognized for Environmental Results in Guanajuato, Mexico

Bandag Mexico, a business unit of Bridgestone Mexico, dedicated to research, development, manufacture of truck tire-retread, was honored by the Government of Guanajuato State, through the Ministry of the Environment and Territorial Planning, with the "Recognition in Sustainability," for the actions carried out permanently and contributing to the implementation of public policies for the care and preservation of the environment in that state.

The recognition was given in a public ceremony presided over by Governor Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo, who emphasized his interest in the work of renowned companies, serving as an example for other organizations.

Manuel Calzada, Director of Bandag Mexico said on receiving the award, "This recognition fills us with pride and motivates us to continue working to promote best industrial practices with our commitment to caring for the environment and building a sustainable society in Guanajuato."

The award is part of the Manifesto for the Environmental Greatness, "More Environmental Education for Guanajuato," through which the State Administration encourages the participation of private initiatives to carry out actions and sustainable programs in their processes of emissions and transfer of pollutants, as well as soil and water conservation.

In the last four years, Bandag has managed to reduce its CO2 emissions by more than 30 percent. It has also maintained the distinction of Clean Company since 2015, and is fully certified under the ISO14001 standard. In addition, Bandag has permanently demonstrated its commitment to raise awareness in the communities by maintaining a program of environmental training in different schools and universities of the State.

"All activities at Bandag are aligned with our commitment to social responsibility, Our Way to Serve, so when receiving badges like this, it shows that we are improving our processes, products and services to make them more sustainable," said Calzada.
