Firestone Ag Celebrates 150 Years of Harvey Firestone at Farm Progress Show

Leading tire brand reflects on advances its leader made in agriculture

Firestone Ag, a business of Bridgestone Americas, Inc., celebrates the 150th anniversary of the birth of founder Harvey Firestone at this year’s Farm Progress Show in Boone, Iowa, Aug. 28–30. Attendees will explore the rich history of the Firestone brand and learn about the advances Firestone personally made in the agricultural tire industry.

“We look forward to using our presence at Farm Progress this year to celebrate the legacy of Harvey Firestone,” says Tony Orlando, president, Firestone Ag. “By hosting fun and educational activities, and providing access to Firestone Ag experts, we hope that those visiting our booth walk away with a deeper understanding of Harvey’s passion for agriculture and tips on how to be more successful on their own farm.”

In addition, the new Firestone Ag Performer EVO tires will make their debut at the event. The Performer Evo tire line provides dependable quality at an affordable price and is backed by the Firestone name. This tire is a quality solution for farmers who want to rely on the brand they know and trust for every piece of equipment on the farm, including secondary tractors.

“Our new Performer EVO tires are just one more example of how Firestone Ag continues to bring new solutions to farmers across the country,” said Matt Frank, product marketing manager, Firestone Ag. “We’re helping farmers match their lesser-used equipment with a quality tire at the right price, so they can focus on the work they need to get done.”

At the Farm Progress Show, visitors can stop by the ‘Ask an Expert’ tent, where Firestone Ag experts will be available to talk about the importance of ensuring tires are in proper condition ahead of harvest, helping to reduce soil compaction and increase yield. Attendees also can participate in a variety of other educational activities including trivia, a history wall, a virtual reality experience as well as attend tire education sessions.

“Harvey Firestone was passionate about educating his customers, and we continue that commitment today,” added Orlando. “I think he’d be proud of what we do at Farm Progress to help farmers learn more about tire care and field efficiencies. We are dedicated to carrying on his legacy for the next 150 years.”
