Integrated Consumer Tire President Delivers Keynote Speech at 2015 Tire Society Conference

TJ Higgins, president, integrated consumer tire division, U.S. & Canada, Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations (Bridgestone), today delivered the keynote speech at the 2015 Tire Society Conference. As part of his remarks, Higgins challenged the present state of the industry by offering a strategic look at how manufacturers of select commoditized products have differentiated themselves in a competitive marketplace. Higgins’ speech centered on the premise of connecting tire technology with a story and a message that influence the mindset of today’s consumer.

“The Tire Society Conference attracts the brightest and most innovative minds in the tire industry. We must work together to fight the race to zero and educate consumers about the breadth of benefits that tire technology can and does deliver — benefits like safety, performance and fuel economy,” said Higgins. “It’s an honor to address this audience and discuss the future of our industry with such an esteemed group.”

The Tire Society Conference is held annually in Akron, Ohio. It is attended by up to 200 engineers and scientists from the tire and vehicle industries, academia and government from around the world. In addition, the Tire Society publishes the industry publication, Tire Science and Technology.
