Bridgestone Cuernavaca Tire Plant Awarded by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles
Bridgestone, a world leader in tire manufacturing and other diversified products, has received the 2014 Outstanding Quality Award for the excellent performance of its Cuernavaca plant, an award granted by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA).
The award was presented by Evelyn Nava, Manager of Quality and Sergio Lopez, Supplier Quality Engineer of FCA. On behalf of Bridgestone Mexico, the award was received by Pablo Jimenez, Director of Manufacturing; Jorge Aguayo, Director of Original Equipment Sales; and Isaias Flores, representative of Bridgestone Union. The delivery of the recognition was held in the premises of Bridgestone plant, including a tour of FIAT executives of the manufacturing process.
FCA gives this award to fifteen original equipment suppliers among 500 participants. Bridgestone was distinguished by its outstanding performance providing high-quality products with timely deliveries and zero complaints. The state-of-the-art technology in manufacturing processes and efficiency in quality management systems through automated controls have allowed Cuernavaca plant to continue to the forefront.
“Our Cuernavaca plant is a leader in tire production in Mexico, and we are very proud to achieve this award which demonstrates our commitment to and positioning in the country”, said Pablo Jimenez, Director of Manufacturing Bridgestone Mexico. "In addition to be recognized for our workforce performance, it encourages us to continue providing products of superior quality and services to meet the needs of our customers with the comfort, safety and quality they deserve," Jimenez stated.
Bridgestone Cuernavaca plant currently manufactures 21,000 tires a day for passenger and light trucks. Bridgestone has implemented processes to improve costs, workforce and operating shifts to make production more efficient. The use of technologies that allow energy savings and sustainable production are some key improvements of the plant.
