BWIN hosts virtual panel, Leading, Living and Working

On May 20, the Bridgestone Women's Initiative Network (BWIN) hosted a virtual panel featuring Bridget Neal, President, Off-the-Road, U.S. and Canada, Louise Brock, General Counsel, Labor & Employment, Chinh Brown, HR Compliance Manager and HRBP for the CAO organization, and Deb Hamlin, Director, Environment, Health, Safety and Sustainability for the Commercial Tire Division. Laura Maurizi, Director, Customer Sales Support, Commercial Tire Division, moderated the session which focused on these leaders sharing how they are navigating through changes at work and home during the pandemic. 

Each panelist shared some of the challenges and opportunities they have experienced in a world that has changed drastically in the last couple of months. Topics covered included leading teams, finding balance between work and personal lives, maintaining connections, staying relevant and visible as well as maximizing work time with no commutes required.

Deb shared how she is dividing her work day into two 'shifts' to allow for personal time during long work days. Louise shared how she is adapting her team's regular conference calls to be more flexible to accommodate employees' additional personal responsibilities during this time. Chinh agreed with the importance of flexibility during situations like the pandemic. She also shared that the best way to stay visible and relevant while working remotely is to continue to do great work and contribute to your team. Bridget added the importance of communicating the work you're doing with your leader and teams.
