Employees across Nashville pulled together to give, volunteer and celebrate the Bridgestone partnership with United Way of Metropolitan Nashville. The 2019 campaign was driven by incredible participation, with 96% percent of Nashville-based employees sharing their time, resources and talent to make the campaign a success. More than 1,600 donations led to the largest employee donation to date!
To encourage participation, Bridgestone held a floor competition across both campuses with the opportunity to earn a day at TopGolf.
In addition to this year's employee giving, employees participated in numerous volunteer opportunities through United Way. More than 200 Bridgestone employees participated in the organization's Stuff the Bus event, helping to stuff donated school supplies into backpacks for local elementary school children. Additionally, employees contributed to sorting 10,712 pounds of food through United Way's Second Harvest event and spent a day supporting YMCA enhancement activities at multiple Nashville locations.
Finally, the week wrapped up with celebration cookouts at each location featuring free food, music and entertainment. Employees at the BOC were treated to assorted food trucks on site, while the Tower hosted teammates at the Schermerhorn Plaza with Bridgestone executives behind the grills.
Although the week was jam packed with exciting events and activities, employees remained committed to the goal of this campaign, raising awareness around the needs in the community and getting involved to make an impact in the city of Nashville.
