Bridgestone Retail Operations employees in Kansas City donate 40 bikes to local Boys and Girls Club

Bridgestone retail operations employees building bikes for boys and girls clubs

This month, nearly 150 Kansas City Region employees from the Bridgestone Retail Operations (BSRO) did something to make their all-team meeting a little more special. In honor of BSRO's partnership with Boys and Girls Club of America (BGCA), the Kansas City team, including store managers, area managers and region staff, assembled 40 bicycles for local kids and teens who attend the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Kansas City. This event accounted for a total of 100 employee volunteer hours.

"To be part of a company that not only allows but encourages and facilitates a partnership with such a deserving organization that is impacting our future generations, is both a blessing and an honor," said Melissa VanTassel, Office Manager for Kansas City and Hibdon Regions. "It is our hope that this will be a memory that each field leader will take back to their store, as they continue to get their store teams involved at a local level to continue to make a difference in the lives of kids and teens, just like the ones we had the pleasure of meeting."

Boys and Girls Clubs of America serves nearly 4 million kids in 4,300 Clubs across the country and provide programs to ensure that health and success is within reach of every kid. Aligning with the People Priority Area of our global commitment to corporate social responsibility, Our Way to Serve, BSRO store employees have raised more than $8 million for BGCA through the Driving Great Futures program since 2015.
