Bridgestone Americas Veteran Organization volunteers with Second Harvest Food Bank

bridgestone Americas veterans organization members volunteering at second harvest food bank

Thirty- five Bridgestone employees recently completed another successful community outreach event at Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee. Members of the Bridgestone Americas Veterans Organization (BRAVO), a veterans' affinity group, spent the afternoon sorting and packing more than 2,000 bags of oranges, which will help feed close to 1,000 local families in need.

The Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee is one of the largest and most comprehensive of more than 200 food banks and food distribution centers nationwide. This was the fourth-time employees with BRAVO volunteered at the Second Harvest location in Nashville.

"We learned that one in eight Middle Tennesseans (and one in six children) struggle with hunger every day, which is an alarming statistic and something most of us take for granted," said Zach Flynn, a BRAVO employee located at the Bridgestone Tower. "It is a privilege to participate in an organization like BRAVO that allows employees to give back to the communities where we live and work."
