Bandag invests in local schools through Classroom of the Quarter

Bandag Classroom of the Quarter

The Bridgestone Bandag location in Muscatine, Iowa recently awarded D.J. Hawkins, physical education and strength training coach, Muscatine High School, as the latest recipient of their Classroom of the Quarter grant.

Coach Hawkins's application was for balance pads that will allow him to incorporate new exercises and movements into his physical education program. The pads also will be useful in the rehabilitation process for injured students and will help them be less prone to ankle injuries.

In partnership with The Muscatine Journal and KWPC-AM/Vintage Sound FM, Classroom of the Quarter was created to assist Muscatine Community School District teachers with the resources needed to shape the classroom environment to enhance learning for every child. Every quarter, the Bandag Plant awards $500 to a teacher or a team of teachers to enrich the environment for Muscatine students.

Initiatives like Classroom of the Quarter exemplify the People Priority Area within our corporate social responsibility (CSR) commitment, Our Way to Serve.
