Firestone Fibers & Textiles participates in Junior Achievement in a Day at Lingerfeldt Elementary School

The Firestone Fibers & Textiles (FSFT) plant in Gastonia, North Carolina participated in Junior Achievement in a Day (JAID) at Lingerfeldt Elementary School on Friday, December 8. FSFT teammates, along with volunteers from Junior Achievement and several local businesses, led activities designed to teach kids about financial literacy and career planning.

"Teaching students about financial responsibility at an early age will not only prepare them for the workforce, but will also set them up for a successful life," said Tony Powell, Division Human Resources Manager. Tony and Anissa Manni, Process Engineering Manager, both serve on the Junior Achievement Gaston County Board.

Junior Achievement is a nationwide organization dedicated to giving young people the knowledge and skills they need to own their economic success, plan for their futures, and make smart academic and economic choices.
