Bridgestone Canada, Inc.

BSCA, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bridgestone Americas, Inc., manufactures tires and textiles in Canada and markets tires, retread and building products in Canada.

In Canada, Bridgestone, Firestone, Dayton and associate brands and their products are distributed and sold through Bridgestone Canada Inc. (BSCA). These products include passenger, light truck, medium truck, forestry, agricultural and small, medium and large off road tires as well as wholesale retread. Product is sold by BSCA through its network of independent dealers and its retail division GCR Tires & Service. BSCA operates a tire plant in Joliette, Quebec, and a textiles plant in Woodstock, Ontario. Additionally, it is engaged in the sale of building products in Canada through its division Firestone Building Products Canada. BSCA employs approximately 2,000 employees.

Sole Bridgestone tire plant in Canada

Constructed in 1965 as a Firestone plant, the Bridgestone Joliette Plant started its operations in 1966. Specialized in the manufacturing of passenger, SUV and light truck tires, the Joliette Plant has seen its production grow from 3,500 tires a day to more than 17,000 over the years, and in 2014, the plant celebrated the production of its 150 millionth tire.

With 1,300 teammates, the Bridgestone Joliette Plant is the largest private employer of the Lanaudière region. Through the partnership established by the leadership team and the employees’ union, the facility can count on a skilled, creative and motivated team that has the company’s success at heart.

One of the greenest plants within the Bridgestone Group, the Joliette Plant is proud to constantly innovate to ensure a healthy environment for the future generations. It is also committed to participate in the development of the Lanaudière community, both economically and socially.

Firestone Textiles Company, a division of Bridgestone Canada Inc.

In operation since 1936

Firestone Textiles began production in Woodstock, Ontario in 1936 with the purchase of Oxford Knitting Mills. Upon this acquisition, Firestone was able to produce its own tire cord fabric, which at the time was primarily cotton, to supply the Firestone Tire Plant in Hamilton, Ontario, prior to its closure in 1988.

FBPC strives to provide outstanding service to its customers and knows the importance of a proper installation for all roofing materials—the company offers training seminars to contractors looking to become Firestone certified installers at its training center in Mississauga, Ontario.

GCR Tires and Service is a retail division of BSCA. Its 34 stores and six retread plants are located throughout the provinces of Quebec, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Ontario. They offer a wide range of superior tire brands from the world’s leading manufacturers, including Bridgestone and Firestone. Their tire inventories include tires for passengers and light trucks, large trucks, agriculture and forestry; industrial products; and off-the-road tires.
