Bridgestone Brazil Receives Life Quality National Award

Bridgestone, the world's greatest tire-maker, received the Life Quality National Award, whose purpose is to acknowledge and give visibility to good practices for health and life quality in the corporate environment. The company’s initiatives were awarded in the “Silver” category of the event.

To compete for the award, Bridgestone registered the “Bem Estar” program – a platform implemented in 2013 that, among other activities, organizes sporting, cultural, educational and health-focused events, like continuous follow-up of chronic patients (hypertensive and diabetic) and the “Alô Mamãe” program for employees and their dependents who are pregnant.

“Through the “Bem Estar” program, we developed initiatives that create an increasingly healthy work environment for our employees,” comments Lucila Del Grande,  Human Resources executive director at Bridgestone. “This acknowledgment by the Life Quality National Award is a confirmation that we are on the right track for our goals,” she completed.

To be eligible for the award, organized by the ABVQ (Quality Life Brazilian Association), the programs by the participating companies had to have been implemented for, at least, two years and still to remain in force. A total of 11 aspects were assessed in choosing the winners: knowledge of the client and the market; value creation; social responsibility; systemic thinking; leadership and constant goals; organizational learning; vision for the future; a culture of innovation; process and data orientation, development of partnerships; and valuing people.

Over 70 companies registered their programs for the Life Quality National Award. A total of 32 projects went through to the second stage, out of which four finalists were selected – among which, Bridgestone.
