Firestone Building Products STEM workshop

Employees at the Firestone Building Products (FSBP) Prescott, Arkansas facility teamed up with Project Learning Tree to host a Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) workshop event for local teachers on how to implement STEM activities in their classrooms and educational programs. The course, led by Ron Beadel, Arkansas State Coordinator for Project Learning Tree, included activities such as constructing paper, designing a seed dispersal mechanism and much more.

Eighteen teachers from the surrounding areas along with four FSBP employees attended the workshop. Teachers were eligible to earn a six-hour professional development credit by participating in the course.

Project Learning Tree's mission is to advance environmental literacy and promote stewardship through excellence in environmental education, professional development, and curriculum resources that use trees and forests as windows on the world. FSBP is proud to partner with employees, local educators and organizations like Project Learning Tree that help us display Our Way to Serve within our communities.
