NASHVILLE, Tenn. (December 16, 2025) – Bridgestone Americas (Bridgestone) is issuing a voluntary recall on 1,742 tires that were developed for replacement market use on light trucks, crossovers, and SUVs. The tires were manufactured incorrectly at the company’s Wilson, North Carolina plant between October 26, 2025 and November 8, 2025. Bridgestone is initiating this voluntary recall out of an abundance of caution as affected tires have an increased risk in belt separations over time. Approximately 50% of the tires being voluntarily recalled are affected. The impacted tires involve the following tire product:
Firestone Destination LE3 tires in size 265/70R17
- Plant ID: 1W2
- Size Code: 1Y
- Optional Code: LE31
- Beginning Date Code: 4325
- Ending Date Code: 4425
Tires included in this voluntary recall apply only to the U.S. market, and the company is not aware of any accidents or injuries involving tires. Bridgestone has notified the regulatory agency in the U.S. in accordance with applicable laws. These tires may experience a decrease in expected durability and may not comply with the endurance requirements of U.S. Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (“FMVSS”) 571.139.
All known customers, distributors and dealers will be notified of the voluntary recall. Owners may take their vehicle to a Bridgestone/Firestone authorized retail location for inspection to determine whether their tires are subject to this voluntary recall. Affected tires will be replaced with a comparable Bridgestone or Firestone brand tire or other suitable replacement at no charge to customers.
