Bridgestone Americas Nashville employees united Way campaign

Throughout the month of August, employees in Nashville have been involved in various volunteer events through the United Way of Metropolitan Nashville and its partner organizations as part of the 2018 United Way campaign.

For the fifth consecutive year, Nashville-based employees participated in the United Way's Stuff the Bus events. On August 1, 100 employee volunteers gathered at Nissan Stadium with 1,100 volunteers from 71 other local companies for the Stuff and Pack event. During the event, 140,000 pieces of donated school supplies were stuffed into 11,000 backpacks for elementary school children enrolled in Metro Nashville Public Schools this year.

Additionally, on August 7, 20 employees volunteered for the backpack delivery event on the first day of school for three Metro Nashville schools.

Employees at Bridgestone Tower and Bridgestone Operations Center sorted snacks and notes of encouragement into 1,000 Power Packs for distribution to children at local elementary schools and United Way Family Resource Centers on August 20.

Bridgestone has been a proud partner of the United Way of Metropolitan Nashville since 1992 and, with the support of dedicated employees, has helped the organization and its partners improve the health, education and financial stability of children, adults and seniors in the community for the past 26 years.

On August 21, 14 volunteers helped the Salvation Army with clean-up work at Magness Potter Community Center.
