Bridgestone Americas’ annual Teens Drive Smart Driving Experience returned to Nashville September 15-16 at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center. More than 300 teens participated in the program, which is organized by Bridgestone and designed to make the roads safer for the next generation of drivers.

The free, half-day workshop is led by highly trained, professional driving instructors, many with motorsports, stunt driving and test track experience. Each session pairs classroom knowledge with behind-the-wheel driving exercises to help teens eliminate distracted driving behaviors, improve practical driving skills and understand how to perform routine vehicle and tire maintenance.

“At Bridgestone, our mission is to Serve Society with Superior Quality,” said Chris Karbowiak, Chief Administrative Officer and Executive Vice President for Bridgestone Americas. “And through our Corporate Social Responsibility commitment, Our Way to Serve, we made a promise to support safe and sustainable mobility. It is both our duty and passion to educate young drivers about the importance of practicing proper tire care and maintenance to ensure driving safety. Teens Drive Smart is an integral part of this initiative as it contributes to a safer society through accessible and inclusive road safety education. Our Way to Serve is a key initiative that helps Bridgestone make its local communities better places to move, live, work and play.”

This is the ninth year for the Bridgestone Teens Drive Smart program. Since the workshop’s inception, more than 4,300 teen drivers have participated in this important safety initiative.
