Bridgestone demonstrates industry-leading innovation with OE fitments

Bridgestone Tires featured on Infiniti QX Inspiration concept vehicle

As Q1 2019 comes to a close, Bridgestone Americas is spotlighting a few of the company's key OE fitments, which were recently on display at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS). The annual automotive show is one of the largest in the industry and took place in January at the Cobo Center in Detroit, Michigan.

Bridgestone tires were featured on a number of concept vehicles revealed at the 2019 NAIAS, including the highly-anticipated Infiniti QX Inspiration. As Infiniti's first fully-electric concept car, the QX Inspiration sets the tone for the future of Infiniti SUV and crossover vehicles. The exterior design of the vehicle was inspired by modern Japanese architecture, requiring a sleek and sophisticated concept tire.

With this in mind, Bridgestone OE engineers in Japan designed a concept tire with a Lux black, high-contrast sidewall to match the stylish luxury of this premium vehicle.

Bridgestone Potenza tires also were featured on the Lexus LC convertible concept vehicle, which also debuted at the 2019 NAIAS. The tire was selected for its high-texture, carbon fiber sidewall design.

This year's show wasn't only about futuristic, concept vehicles. Bridgestone also showed well on various vehicles coming to market in 2019 and 2020. The 2019 Ram 1500 equipped with Bridgestone Dueler tires received one of the show's highest honors – it was named the 2019 Motor Trend Truck of the Year.

Other key tire fitments from Bridgestone on display at the 2019 NAIAS included:

  • Bridgestone Turanza EL 450 tires featured on the 2020 Lexus UX Hybrid
  • Bridgestone Dueler RH-S tires featured on the 2019 Jeep Wrangler, 2019 GMC Sierra and 2019 Chevy Silverado
  • Firestone Destination LE2 tires featured on the 2020 Honda Ridgeline pickup truck
  • Firestone Destination A/T tires featured on the 2019 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk

This was the last year the NAIAS will be held in January. In 2020, organizers are moving the show to June in hopes of generating more media coverage and attracting more visitors.
