On October 12, Chief Jeff Hawthorne, Lemont Fire Protection District Public Educator, visited the Chicago Distribution Center (DC) facility to conduct fire safety training. The Chicago DC has the privilege of sharing a close and supportive partnership with the Lemont Fire Protection District.
Chief Hawthorne's presentation covered statistics on occurrences, the science of combustion, different types of fires and extinguishers, and accounts of his own fire fighting experiences. He also facilitated a virtual fire extinguisher hands-on training for each employee in attendance.
Mark Urban, Chicago DC Manager, presented Chief Hawthorne, with a plaque in appreciation of his support and concern for our safety.
