Bridgestone Brazil Reduces Operating Costs and Promotes Sustainability Through Water Reuse Project

For over a year, the Water Reuse Project has helped reduce operating costs at the Bridgestone Brazil Santo André Plant and demonstrates Bridgestone's commitment to sustainability and the environment.

Designed by the Santo André Plant's utilities and engineering departments, the project has three objectives: to preserve natural resources by establishing a sustainable environmental policy; to employ reused water to reduce utilities operating costs; and to develop a water supply contingency in the event of water rationing.

Prior to the Water Reuse Project, 100 percent of the water consumed by the plant came from the city supply and artesian wells. Since last July, this number has decreased to just 30 percent. The results confirm the strong positive impact this project has on Bridgestone Brazil and the environment.
