Bridgestone and Bandag recognized for social responsibility in Mexico
On May 14-16, Bridgestone Mexico (BSMX) and Bandag®, a business of Bridgestone Americas dedicated to the research, development and manufacturing of premium retreaded tires, were recognized as leaders in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) within its industry. BSMX and Bandag received the Socially Responsible Company award for the 12th time and fifth time respectively.
The awards were presented by the Mexican Center for Philanthropy (Cemefi) and the Alliance for Corporate Social Responsibility(AliaRSE) at the XI Latin American Forum of Social Responsibility (ESR), held in Mexico City.
"At Bridgestone, we understand social responsibility as the alignment between our business strategy and the needs and interests of the communities in which we operate. It is gratifying to know, for more than 12 years, our service to society with superior quality has been worthy of this distinction," said Alfonso Zendejas, President and Managing Director, Bridgestone Latin America North, upon receiving the award.
For its award, Bandag, was recognized for its commitment to the community and the environment, as well as the implementation of policies and specific procedures, information sessions and orientation to universities, and volunteer and donation programs with local organizations.
