REDUCE CO2 EMISSIONS

Bridgestone is paying close attention to the impact of CO2 emissions. The company’s efforts to reduce CO2 emissions go beyond tire manufacturing. In addition to reducing its manufacturing footprint, Bridgestone has committed to reducing CO2 emissions throughout the lifecycle of a tire.

Reducing Through Energy Conservation

We recognize that climate change is a real and significant risk to the natural resources we utilize to run our business, as well as to our world’s economic well-being. We continually work to reduce emissions, not only in our direct footprint, but also within the life cycle of our products. Through rigorous tracking and the constant search for improvements in energy conservation, energy efficiency and renewable energy, our carbon dioxide emissions are decreasing.

ECOPIA TIRES

We continue to develop new products with sustainability in mind. The Bridgestone Ecopia line of tires are designed to reduce rolling resistance, or rolling drag, allowing drivers to go farther on less energy. When rolling resistance is reduced, the tire rolls more easily, improving fuel economy and thereby lessening the tire’s impact on the environment.

RETAIL STORES SUSTAINABILITY

At Bridgestone’s nationwide network of company-owned retail stores nearly 137 million metric tons of CO2 are conserved each year by recycling used oil recovered from vehicles.
